Loire Valley
The Loire Valley is a real passion and speciality of our business for nearly twenty years.
Home to the grape varieties Melon, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc, the Loire Valley extends from Muscadet country around Nantes on the Atlantic coast, some 600km upstream all the way to Sancerre and Pouilly-sur-Loire in the centre of France. Along the way it traverses the historic wine regions of Anjou, Savennières, Saumur, Chinon, Vouvray and many more. Here we offer a selection of its best producers.
Today, the Loire Valley is the thinking person's source of some of the best value-for-money and longest-lived wines of France and indeed the whole world of wine. We feel privileged to represent many of the very best producers from this large and incredibly exciting region that offers such remarkable value. The Loire really does have it all, from sparkling wines to light and crisp to intense and textured dry whites, sweet whites and also some of most sought after red wines in all France, red wines coming mostly from Cabernet Franc which can challenge (and beat) the best from Burgundy and Bordeaux).
